First Aid Annual Refresher

Research has shown that following training, the practical skills of First Aiders can deteriorate.  HSE strongly recommend that First Aiders undertake annual refresher training during the 3 year period that their certificate is valid.  Although not mandatory, this will help qualified First Aiders maintain their basic skills and keep up to date with any changes in First Aid procedures.   Current FAW courses

This course lasts half a day [3 hours]

Course Content

•     Assess the situation in an Emergency

•     Administer First Aid to a casualty who is unconscious [incl.  seizures]

•     Administer Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation

•     Administer First Aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding

•     Administer First Aid to a Casualty who is suffering form Shock   

The course will also include any relevant First Aid updates or changes.
