Courses Staying Alive offer a wide range of courses to suit everyone's needs. Remember that courses can be split over sessions of 2-3 hours on dates to suit you so please contact us to discuss your needs. Most courses are valid for 3 years. Trainers work to the recommendations of the European Resuscitation Council and HSE with a mannequin to every 4 students. Trainers use a variety of methods to reinforce learning and aid retention. Staying Alive want candidates to leave a course confident to use the knowledge and procedures learned. Every student matters. Our First Aid at Work [FAW] courses for the work place help you to look after your employees. They are designed, regulated and monitored by the Health and Safety Executive [HSE]. The Paediatric course is specifically for those looking after young children. This Early Years Foundation Stage [EYFS] is the one OFSTED require for childminders, pre-schools and schools with pupils in the year in which they become 5.
As mentioned in
"Every Child Matters" (May 2008) on page 26 of the Statutory
Framework [Welfare Requirements] and Page 23 [Appendix 1] of the
Practice Guidance For schools we also offer a selection of staff training sessions of 2, 4 or 6 hours tailored to the individual school's needs. These can be suitable for all staff or slanted to Teaching Assistants [TAs] or Midday Supervisors [MSAs]. We also have courses for pupils ranging from the Primary sector through to BTEC and GNVQ. We run Resuscitation updates for doctors, nurses and dentists. We also offer courses for those offering alternative therapies including Acupuncture and Reflexology. For those in the workplace with access to a defibrillator training courses and annual updates are available. |
